For You. For Shaker.
I am honored to represent you on the Shaker Heights City Council. Over time I have had the privilege of meeting thousands of Shaker Heights residents. You tell me about your deep commitment to make Shaker an even better place to call home. I share your commitment.
With your support, I am focused on financially sustainability, expansion of the new teen center I championed (The Getaway), and creation of a community-driven "Shaker 2030" Growth Plan (details in "Platform" section below).
Helping organizations achieve positive change is what I do. Since 2001 my small business has helped important organizations do better. Working together we will help Shaker Heights do better.

I champion a welcoming, safe, open and inclusive community where ALL people thrive. We must stand firmly on these core values. As I look to the future there are three areas I will focus on as a member of Shaker Council:
Develop "Shaker 2030"
Shaker residents want to grow the commercial tax base, improve collaboration, and increase property values. To achieve these goals all of us must join together to collaboratively develop a Shaker 2030 growth plan. The first phase of The Van Aken District is a good start and I’m proud to be a part of it. A vibrant commercial corridor can be built in the Chagrin/Lee area too. We will study why people move into Shaker, why they leave, and what to do about it. A growth plan will clarify our goals for the future.
Create Financial Sustainability
When I first ran for City Council in 2013, I promised to find ways to maintain or improve city services at a lower cost. We have had a number of successes. One result is outsourcing our jail to Solon. We are saving money and hours devoted to public safety have increased by enabling officers to spend more time policing and less time on jail-related activities.
Grow the Teen Center
A new teen center, named “The Getaway”, opened on October 9th, 2017. This is another fulfilled campaign commitment. I worked alongside Reuben Harris, Alex Nichols and many other talented members of our community to bring this vision to reality. In coming years, we will build on this success by expanding offerings and ensuring The Getaway serves our teen’s unmet needs by providing a place where Shaker Heights High School students can go and safely grow.
